The price of gas for new industries and captive power generation has been raised by 33%, effective from today, Sunday.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a 33% increase in gas prices for new industrial users and captive power producers. The revised rates come into effect immediately.
Jalal Ahmed, Chairman of BERC, revealed the new pricing structure during a press conference held on Sunday. The adjustment is aimed at addressing rising operational costs and ensuring a stable energy supply amid growing demand.
The decision is expected to impact production costs across multiple sectors, prompting industry leaders to reassess their energy strategies.
