After an attack on several anti-discrimination student movement activists on Friday night, Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) Commissioner Nazmul Karim Khan has announced that the Sadar Police Station Officer in Charge (OC) will be closed.

The GMP Commissioner said, “On behalf of the police force, I am expressing my apology for the incident that happened last night. I am admitting my fault. None of the attackers will be spared, all the attacks will be returned. Measures will be taken against each police member who responded late.”

Liberty News’ local correspondent reports that Nazmul Karim Khan made the remarks while speaking at the protest programme of the anti-discrimination student movement at Rajbari on Saturday afternoon.
