People will no longer need to file a general diary (GD) for replacing their lost national identification (NID) cards, as per a new decision taken by the Election Commission (EC).
The EC has already approved the decision as part of efforts to ease people’s troubles, EC’s NID Wing Director General ASM Humayun Kabir told reporters on Thursday.
The EC is considering further measures to make NID-related services more easy and people-friendly, he added.
