A case has been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act over vandalism, arson, and attacks on police during violent clashes surrounding the National Citizen Party (NCP) rally in Gopalganj Sadar upazila on Wednesday.

Sadar Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Mir Sajedur Rahman confirmed that the case names 75 individuals and includes around 400 unidentified accused. So far, more than 50 people have been arrested, and multiple police teams are conducting operations to detain others involved.

The violence erupted during the NCP’s scheduled rally, leading to the deaths of four people and injuries to dozens more. A fifth victim died on Friday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

In response to the unrest, local authorities imposed Section 144 on Wednesday, followed by a curfew starting at 8pm the same day. Though initially set for 22 hours, the curfew was later extended indefinitely, with only a brief three-hour pause on Friday.

The government has also launched a three-member investigation
