Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said the government has placed no restriction or objection regarding the return of BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman to Bangladesh.
Shafiqul Alam clarified this in a Facebook post on Saturday while responding to journalists’ inquiries.
The clarification came after Tarique Rahman mentioned in a recent statement that the decision on his return was not entirely within his control at the moment.
He further said that Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has already expressed deep concern over the health condition of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and has sought prayers from the nation for her recovery.
