In response to growing concerns over Covid-19 and dengue outbreaks, the government has issued urgent health and safety directives to educational institutions across the country.
A circular from the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), issued on 15 June, instructed all heads of schools and colleges to implement the measures immediately.
Teachers and students have been directed to take active roles in nationwide awareness campaigns focused on preventing dengue.
The notice also reinforced Covid-19 safety protocols, including frequent handwashing with soap for at least 20 seconds, avoiding large gatherings, wearing masks in public spaces, maintaining a minimum distance of three feet from infected persons, avoiding face-touching with unclean hands, and using tissues or elbows to cover coughs and sneezes.
Authorities hope these measures will strengthen prevention efforts and safeguard the health of students and staff.
