Two persons were killed during an “exchange of fire” between criminals and members of joint forces in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur earlier today, police said.
The identities of the deceased and details of the operation could not be ascertained immediately.
However, many news agencies/channels have done spot reporting and spoke to local witnesses. Witnesses stated that joint forces came under attack from 2 people, who took refuge in a local rooftop after attacking the joint forces. The attack left a couple of military members injured. After locating the 2 people on a local rooftop, they were told to surrender. They did not surrender and a gunfight took place, leaving the 2 dead on the roof. A firearm has been recovered from the rooftop.
Liberty News’ city correspondent reports the joint force members detained five persons following the drive, police said.
