The Palestinian resistance group Hamas has significantly expanded its military strength by recruiting 30,000 new fighters in Gaza, according to Israeli media reports.
Hamas, the armed Palestinian group fighting for independence, is becoming increasingly powerful amid ongoing conflict with Israel. Israeli newspaper The Times of Israel reports that the group has enlisted 30,000 young fighters into its military wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades.
These newly recruited members have reportedly undergone training at secret military camps inside Gaza. However, according to Al Arabiya, their military skills are primarily limited to urban warfare, rocket launching, and explosive placement.
The conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted on October 7, 2023, and has continued ever since. Despite relentless and brutal Israeli attacks for over a year and a half, Israel has failed to fully seize control of Gaza. Meanwhile, efforts to rescue Israeli hostages remain ongoing.
