Bangladesh were left heartbroken after a 2-2 draw against Nepal, despite a dazzling performance from Hamza Choudhury.
The midfielder inspired a stunning comeback, scoring twice within the first four minutes of the second half.
His brilliant overhead kick levelled the score, before a coolly executed Panenka penalty put Bangladesh 2-1 ahead by the 49th minute. The home crowd erupted, sensing victory as the Leicester City star led a commanding display.
However, as the clock ticked into stoppage time, defensive frailties resurfaced. Poor marking and a lapse in concentration allowed Nepal’s Ananta Tamang to slot home a 90+3 minute equaliser, silencing the home crowd.
Hamza’s heroics — his third and fourth goals for Bangladesh — deserved a winning script, but once again, late defensive blunders overshadowed a brilliant individual performance. The draw leaves Bangladesh rueing missed chances and raising lingering questions about their defensive composure in crucial moments.
