Home Affairs Adviser Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has instructed law enforcement to take a tough stance against sudden rallies organized by Awami League and its allies, labeling them as perpetrators of mass violence.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting Bimanbandar Police Station on Saturday, the adviser said the law enforcement agencies are on high alert and have been ordered to respond firmly to any subversive activities by Awami League.

He emphasized that police must not allow any group to escape after organizing flash processions or surprise gatherings. “Even if they gather for a minute or two, they must not be allowed to vanish,” he warned.

Jahangir Alam added that the law and order situation is gradually improving, but isolated flash rallies have been reported in a few locations. “Police have already detained some of the participants,” he noted.

He further cautioned that any sign of negligence by law enforcement in handling Awami League’s activities will lead to strict action.
