Home Affairs Advisor, Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, has commented that blocking roads for protests, whether justified or not, breaks the patience of the public. He has urged for programs to be held within one’s own area to resolve issues.
He made this statement after visiting the Naval Police Headquarters on Wednesday (February 5).
The advisor also mentioned that when the police take action, the media often reports against them, and he sought the media’s cooperation in such matters.
In response to a journalist’s question, the Home Affairs Advisor stated that those accused in the International Crimes Tribunal cases, who are abroad, including in India, will be brought back according to extradition treaties. He also mentioned that efforts are underway to change the behavior of the police, which has been observed over the past 15 years.
Regarding the interim government’s six months of performance, the advisor said that only the people can judge its success. Additionally, he confirmed that necessary actions will be taken after investigating the recent attack at Uttara West Police Station.
