Tawhid Hridoy has been handed a four-match ban after reaching eight demerit points, ruling him out of Mohammadan’s Dhaka Premier League title decider against Abahani.

During Mohammadan’s match against Gazi Group, Hridoy was dismissed and visibly protested the decision. Umpires filed a misconduct report after the game, and he was summoned for a hearing which he failed to attend.

Match referee Akhtar Ahmed Shipper imposed one demerit point and a Tk 10,000 fine under Level-1 breach regulations, which carry no right of appeal. Prior to this, Hridoy already faced seven demerit points, bringing his total to eight—automatically triggering a four-match suspension.

With Hridoy sidelined, Mohammadan will field a reduced side in the final against Abahani. A source in the CCDM confirmed that official notification letters have been dispatched to both the player and his club, informing them of the suspension by Sunday.
