India has carried out late-night missile strikes targeting three areas in Pakistan, causing structural damage but no reported casualties, according to Pakistan’s military.
In a significant escalation of tensions, India launched missile strikes from within its own airspace targeting Pakistan’s Azad Kashmir, Muzaffarabad, and Bahawalpur regions around 1:30 AM on Tuesday night, Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.
The strikes reportedly damaged a mosque, a power grid station, and other infrastructure, though no loss of life has been reported so far.
Director General of ISPR, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, condemned the attack and accused India of cowardice. “They didn’t dare to violate our airspace. Instead, they launched missiles in the cover of darkness, targeting civilian structures,” he said.
He further stated that in response, Pakistan has ordered all its combat aircraft to be on high alert and ready for retaliation. “Our air force has been mobilized. Any further provocation will be met with full force,” he warned.
The Indian government has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
This development marks a sharp rise in hostilities between the two nuclear-armed nations, coming just days after the UN urged both sides to resolve their disputes through dialogue and diplomatic channels.
