Pakistan claims it has destroyed 12 Indian drones overnight, accusing India of carrying out a clear act of military aggression by launching UAVs into its territory following heightened tensions over the Kashmir conflict.

The Director General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, announced on Thursday that Indian forces launched multiple Harop drones into Pakistani territory on Wednesday night. In response, Pakistan’s armed forces—on high alert—reportedly intercepted and shot down all 12 drones across various locations.

“This is a blatant act of military aggression by India,” said Lt. Gen. Chaudhry. “Our forces were vigilant and successfully neutralized the threat.”

The drone strike follows an earlier Indian missile attack in Pakistan, reportedly in retaliation for the recent Pahalgam assault in Indian-administered Kashmir. In response, India has placed its border states—Rajasthan and Punjab—on high alert.

Local authorities in Rajasthan have canceled all police leave and banned public gatherings amid fears of a counterattack. The state, which shares a 1,037-kilometer border with Pakistan, has sealed off the frontier completely.

Security personnel along the border have been instructed to shoot on sight if they observe any suspicious activity. Movement near the border has also been restricted for those not residing in the area.

The situation remains tense as both nuclear-armed neighbors appear locked in a dangerous escalation, raising concerns of further cross-border military action.
