In response to the tragic fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, India is sending a team of specialist doctors, nurses, and medical equipment to assist in the treatment of the injured.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the incident and assured Bangladesh of medical assistance for the burn victims. Following his assurance, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka announced that a specialised medical team will soon arrive in Bangladesh.

A verified post from the High Commission’s official Facebook page on Wednesday stated:
“On July 21, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi expressed condolences over the loss of lives in the tragic air crash in Dhaka and offered support and assistance. A team of burn specialists, doctors, and nurses carrying necessary medical supplies is expected to arrive in Dhaka shortly to assess the condition of the injured and recommend further treatment, including specialized care in India if required.”

Depending on the condition of the patients and the initial evaluation by the medical team, additional specialists may also be dispatched.

Earlier, the Indian High Commission in Dhaka had sent an urgent letter to the Government of Bangladesh requesting detailed information about the injured, reiterating India’s willingness to provide immediate medical support.
