Protesters injured in the July uprising took to the streets once again, staging a demonstration near the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka after facing police resistance while attempting to march towards the Chief Advisor’s residence, Jamuna.

After blocking Mirpur Road throughout the day, the injured demonstrators began marching towards the Chief Advisor’s residence in the evening. At 7:39 PM, they reached the Intercontinental Hotel, where they were met with police barricades. Expressing their frustration, the protesters decided to sit down and continue their demonstration on the spot.

Speaking to journalists, protester Aminul Islam Imon voiced his disappointment, stating that despite their continuous protest, no government representative had shown any concern or sympathy. “This government stands on the blood of those who died and were injured in the July movement, yet they refuse to acknowledge us,” he said.

Liberty News’ national affairs correspondent reports that the protest had initially begun on Saturday at 10:30 PM, when the injured demonstrators blocked roads near the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) and the National Eye Institute Hospital in Agargaon. The protest continued throughout the night and into Sunday, with demonstrators later shifting to Shyamoli Mirpur Road, where they demanded official recognition and rehabilitation for those injured in the uprising.
