At least eight people, including a child, have been killed and more than 100 injured in Iran’s missile and drone strikes on Israel overnight, according to local authorities and media reports.
The attacks, which took place on Saturday night and continued into early Sunday, struck multiple areas across the country. Police reported that four people were killed when a missile hit the northern Israeli town of Tamra late at night.
Earlier, Israel’s national emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed that three others had died after a missile struck a residential building. An eight-year-old child was also among the victims, according to local reports.
Police stated that the dead included two women in their 40s, a 20-year-old woman, and a 13-year-old girl. Several others were injured, while at least 35 people are reported missing, with emergency crews working to rescue those trapped under the rubble.
The strikes caused widespread damage and panic, with over 100 people reportedly wounded in central Israel alone.
Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, as authorities continue to assess the full scale of the destruction.
