BNP leader Ishraque Hossain has temporarily suspended the ongoing protest, giving a 48-hour ultimatum to interim government to observe its actions.
He made this announcement on Thursday afternoon at protest site of Kakrail in the capital.
Earlier, on Wednesday morning, Ishraque’s supporters began a sit-in at Kakrail, demanding that he be sworn in as mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). They continued their demonstration throughout the night.
On Thursday afternoon, it was observed that BNP activists were chanting various slogans demanding that Ishraque Hossain be sworn in as the mayor of DSCC. They also called for the resignation of two advisors.
