Israel pounds Gaza City, kills at least 57 across Strip

At least 57 people have been killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza since the early hours of Sunday, including 38 starving people seeking aid.

The Palestinian Health Ministry says 11 more people have died of Israel-induced starvation in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll to 251. The victims include 108 children.

Hamas has slammed Israel’s plan to seize Gaza City, calling talk of shelter provision and humanitarian aid “blatant deception”.

Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 61,827 people and wounded 155,275. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led 7 October 2023, attacks, and more than 200 were taken captive.
