At least 20 Palestinians were killed and more than 125 injured in a single day as Israeli forces intensified their airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, according to a report by Anadolu Agency on Wednesday.

The report stated that within the past 24 hours, Israeli military operations claimed the lives of 20 civilians in Gaza and left 125 others wounded. The scale of the assault has drawn renewed global concern over the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in the region.

In a statement, the Gaza Health Ministry revealed that since the beginning of Israel’s full-scale offensive in October 2023, the death toll has surged to 52,928, while the number of injured has reached 119,846. The ministry also warned that the actual figures could be even higher, as many victims remain trapped under rubble and remain inaccessible to rescue teams.

The continued Israeli bombardment has devastated Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, making it increasingly difficult for emergency services to operate and provide urgent medical care.

Human rights groups and international organizations have repeatedly urged an immediate ceasefire, as the humanitarian situation worsens with each passing day.
