Israeli airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip continue to claim lives, with at least 38 more Palestinians killed since midnight, pushing the total death toll to nearly 53,500.
Fresh Israeli bombardments targeted various areas of Gaza after midnight, particularly following evacuation orders issued to residents in the southern city of Khan Younis, according to reports from Al Jazeera and Turkey’s Anadolu Agency on Tuesday.
The renewed attacks come amid a devastating toll on Gaza’s population. Since Israel launched a new wave of assaults on March 18, approximately 3,350 Palestinians have lost their lives, as per updated figures.
In the past 24 hours alone, at least 136 Palestinians were killed, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported on Monday. The overall death toll since the start of Israel’s full-scale assault in October 2023 now stands at 53,486.
Meanwhile, international pressure is mounting. Leaders from Canada, France, and the United Kingdom have warned Israel of “strong measures” if the latest offensive in Gaza does not cease. In addition, 22 countries have urged Israel to allow the entry of humanitarian aid into the blockaded territory.
