At least 26 Palestinians, including eight children, were killed as Israeli air and drone strikes continued across the besieged Gaza Strip, Anadolu Agency reported on Sunday.

In central Gaza’s Deir al-Balah, a drone strike on a group of civilians killed two and injured several others. Two more people died in separate attacks in the same city—one in another drone strike and another from injuries sustained in an earlier assault.

In Khan Younis, southern Gaza, an Israeli strike targeted a makeshift shelter, killing a man and his son. In another drone strike on a nearby tent in western Khan Younis, four people, including two children, were killed and several others wounded.

Separate attacks in al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis, near Asda city, killed four more civilians, including two children. A child also died in another tent strike in the same area, while a young man was killed in a drone attack targeting his bicycle.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli forces heavily shelled and opened fire in Abasan al-Kabira, east of Khan Younis. One child was killed in Gaza City due to shelling, and another person was critically wounded in northern Jabalia.

An airstrike on a vehicle in Khan Younis killed four people, while another attack in Gaza City left five dead, including a young girl.

In Gaza City’s Al-Tuffah neighborhood, Israeli bombardment destroyed several residential buildings. A mosque on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia was also hit, injuring two people.

The ongoing assault follows the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas on southern Israel, which killed around 1,200 people and led to the abduction of approximately 251 individuals.
