Relentless Israeli airstrikes continue to claim lives in Gaza, with at least 39 Palestinians killed and 118 injured in the past 24 hours alone, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.
At least 39 Palestinians were killed and over 118 wounded in the latest round of Israeli airstrikes on the besieged Gaza Strip, Anadolu Agency reported on Monday (April 14), citing Gaza’s Health Ministry. Many of the injured are in critical condition, and thousands remain trapped under rubble, with rescue operations hindered by destroyed infrastructure and continued bombardment.
Since the start of the conflict on October 7, 2023, following a surprise attack by Hamas, the war has claimed a staggering 50,983 Palestinian lives and injured more than 116,274. The humanitarian situation on the ground continues to deteriorate, with thousands still missing, believed to be buried under collapsed buildings and roads.
Although a temporary ceasefire was declared by Israel on January 19 under international pressure, hostilities resumed in mid-March after disputes over Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza. Since March 18, renewed attacks have killed 1,613 Palestinians and wounded over 4,200 more.
The United Nations reports that approximately 85% of Gaza’s population has been displaced, and around 60% of the region’s infrastructure—including hospitals, schools, residential buildings, and utilities—has been destroyed or severely damaged.
The international community has strongly condemned Israel’s continued military actions. In November last year, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
A separate genocide case against Israel remains ongoing at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), as global agencies including the UN call for an immediate ceasefire and urgent humanitarian aid. However, the blockade and ongoing airstrikes have severely hampered aid delivery efforts.
