Israel’s relentless assault on the besieged Gaza Strip has claimed 92 Palestinian lives in just 48 hours, as the death toll from months of aggression continues to soar.
The Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Saturday that 92 Palestinians were killed and 219 others injured in the past two days due to ongoing Israeli attacks. Since Israel resumed its offensive on Gaza on March 18, breaking a previous ceasefire, a total of 1,783 Palestinians have been killed and 4,683 wounded.
Overall, 51,157 Palestinians have been killed and 116,724 injured during the 18 months of Israeli aggression against Gaza.
According to Al Jazeera, at least 21 Palestinians were killed across Gaza from dawn until 1 p.m. local time on Saturday. Fatalities were reported in northern Gaza’s Beit Lahia (four dead), Beit Hanoun (one dead), central Gaza (two dead), Deir al-Balah (one dead), Khan Younis (eleven dead across three separate attacks), and Gaza City (two dead). In Khan Younis’ Ma’an area, an Israeli drone strike killed a woman and her child, leaving several others injured.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces have intensified operations in the occupied West Bank. Armed settlers, alongside Israeli soldiers, attacked Palestinian communities, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. On Saturday, Israeli forces arrested 60 Palestinians from the Fawwar refugee camp south of Hebron.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reported settler attacks in Jericho’s Ras Ein al-Auja village, where settlers vandalized homes, looted properties, and unleashed livestock on Palestinian farmland. Additional assaults were reported in Khirbet al-Deir village, with settlers destroying crops and stealing water pumps.
Amid these developments, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry issued a warning about Israeli settlers allegedly planning to demolish the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem to build a Jewish temple. Citing Hebrew-language online platforms, the ministry called for urgent intervention by the international community and the United Nations to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites under international law.
