Veteran Israeli journalist Gideon Levy has said there is overwhelming public support in Israel for US involvement in the conflict with Iran, particularly under former President Donald Trump.
Speaking to Al Jazeera, Levy noted, “If you make a poll, you would realise that over 90 percent would like the Americans to get in,” adding that many Israelis believe only US military capabilities can effectively target Iran’s heavily fortified Fordow nuclear site.
He pointed out that the public largely overlooks the escalating cost of the conflict, including infrastructure damage, disrupted daily life, and a paralyzed economy. Despite the hardships, Levy said, “People are ready to pay this price” for now, though he questioned how long that sentiment could last.
