BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has said that it is possible to hold the national elections before December.
He made the remark while joining the discussion meeting marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman at the Engineers Institution in the capital on Thursday afternoon.
He said, “I think it is possible to hold the election before December. I once again urge to the interim government – to embrace the aspirations of the people.”
He also called the government to announce a specific date for the election by December.
“The victory or defeat of the interim government does not exit here,” he added.
Tarique said, “The interim government has not announced a clear date for the national elections even after 10 months. As a result, a kind of uncertainty has been created in the state and politics. Due to this uncertainty, the country’s economic activities have come to a standstill.”
