Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has pledged to build a corruption-free and humane Bangladesh, emphasizing justice and moral governance.

On Monday, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman visited the family of a seventh-grade girl who was raped in Ward 1 of Barguna Municipality’s Kalibari Road. The victim’s father, Montu Das, was allegedly murdered on March 11 following the incident.

Arriving in Barguna via helicopter, Dr. Shafiqur went directly to the victim’s home, where he consoled the family and assured them of support. He reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami’s struggle is against all oppressive forces, as mandated by the Quran, and aims to establish a humane and ideal state through the implementation of divine laws.

Later, addressing a brief rally at Barguna Town Hall Field, organized by the district Jamaat, Dr. Shafiqur stated, “We have come here to share the grief of this oppressed family. The victim’s father was an ordinary non-Muslim citizen, leaving behind his elderly mother, wife, and three daughters. Losing their sole breadwinner has left them utterly helpless. It is our moral duty to stand by them, and we officially take responsibility for their well-being.”

He further asserted that those who uphold Quranic governance will be entrusted with Bangladesh’s future leadership. “We envision a future Bangladesh free from corruption and misrule, governed by justice and moral integrity,” he added.

Liberty News’ political correspondent states that the rally was presided over by District Jamaat Ameer Professor Maulana Mubibullah Harun and moderated by Secretary Asaduzzaman Al Mamun. Central Assistant Secretary General Adv. Muazzam Hossain Helal and other leaders also addressed the gathering.
