Dr. Shafiqul Rahman, Amir of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has urged society to create a social resistance against sexual assault and ensure the highest punishment for those involved in such crimes.
In a Facebook post on Sunday (March 9), Dr. Shafiqul Rahman strongly condemned the recent sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl in Magura, calling for the maximum punishment for the rapist and those who aided the crime. He emphasized that the crimes of the rapist and the accomplices were the same and must be treated with the utmost severity.
He further added, “There are many other vile creatures who commit such heinous acts. They must be captured and swiftly brought to justice, ensuring the highest punishment for them.”
The Jamaat Amir also called on imams, khatibs, and other religious and socially aware citizens to come forward and work together to build a strong social resistance against rapists. “We must collectively hate and socially boycott rapists,” he urged.
Liberty News’ political correspondent states that on Saturday (March 8), Dr. Rahman also posted another message on his Facebook, urging society to give women the respect they deserve. He reminded people that every man has a mother, a sister, and potentially a daughter, highlighting the importance of ideal beauty and values in attracting people, which always yields positive results.
