Amid growing political tension and calls for unity talks, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, accompanied by his deputy, entered the state guest house Jamuna Saturday night for a meeting with Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus.
A two-member delegation from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, led by party Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, met with the interim government’s Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus on Saturday night as political uncertainty deepens over Yunus’s potential resignation.
The delegation, which entered the state guest house Jamuna at 8 PM, also included Jamaat’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher.
This meeting follows Jamaat’s public call for an all-party dialogue after reports surfaced regarding Dr. Yunus’s possible resignation from the interim government. The party emphasized the importance of inclusive talks to resolve the current political crisis and restore stability.
Earlier, a four-member BNP delegation led by Standing Committee Member Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain held a separate meeting with the Chief Advisor, where they demanded a December election roadmap and removal of controversial advisors.
As political discussions intensify, Dr. Yunus is expected to meet with more party representatives in the coming days to chart a course forward for the nation’s democratic process.
