Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that this time a sham or rigged election will not be accepted.
He said, “Signs of elections similar to those of 2014, 2018, and 2024 are becoming evident. To those contemplating such misconduct, we have a clear message—people have brought change through bloodshed before. If necessary, we will again achieve change at the cost of blood. This nation has not spared anyone in the past, and we will not either.”
Jamaat Ameer made these remarks during a roadside gathering at Alekhar Char on the Comilla Highway on Saturday morning (July 5), while on his way to Feni.
Shafiqur Rahman added, “Just as students, youth, and workers have previously stood up and fought to claim their rights, we must move forward to claim our rights again. Our struggle is not against fascists as individuals, but against fascism as a system—whether it is old or new. As long as fascism exists, our fight will continue.”
Notably, today in Feni, Jamaat Ameer will deliver the keynote speech at the Rukon Conference and a distinguished citizens’ gathering. On this occasion, he addressed multiple roadside gatherings in Cumilla while on his way to Feni in the morning.
