Jamaat leader’s wife stabbed to death

In a tragic incident in Bahubal Upazila, Habiganj, the wife of a former Jamaat-e-Islami leader was found stabbed to death yesterday evening.

The victim, Minara Khatun, 35, was the wife of Abdul Ahad, the former secretary of Jamaat in the upazila.

According to local sources, Abdul Ahad returned home from the district of Habiganj around 7:00 PM, only to discover Minara’s lifeless body lying in a pool of blood inside their residence.

Upon receiving the distress call, officers from Bahubal Model Police Station immediately arrived at the scene and recovered the body.

Abdul Ahad revealed that their six-month-old child was found under the bed at the time of the discovery.

Bahubal Model Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge, Zahidur Rahman, confirmed that an investigation into the murder is underway.

ANM Sazedur Rahman, the Superintendent of Police in Habiganj, told Liberty news, “I have visited the crime scene. It is clear that the victim was stabbed. The PBI forensic team is still collecting evidence, and further details will be disclosed after the autopsy.”

Abdul Ahad, originally from Barogaon village in Bahubal, had relocated to Paschim Joypur village with his family six months ago.
