Speaking to reporters after visiting victims at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, he said, “We found 51 injured here. Except for seven or eight, the condition of most victims is critical.”

He said Jamaat has assured the hospital authorities of full cooperation and has conveyed their readiness to provide whatever support is needed at any hour. “We informed the authorities that we are on standby around the clock to provide whatever is needed,” Shafiqur Rahman said.

According to him, the hospital authorities stated that all immediate medical needs are currently being met but assured they would reach out for further assistance if required.

Seeking prayers from the people of the country, the Jamaat chief prayed for the quick recovery of the injured children who are fighting for their lives.

He further stated that Jamaat will attempt to visit every family that has lost a loved one in the accident and will remain closely engaged with doctors and guardians to ensure all necessary support is provided.

He also mentioned that Islami Chhatra Shibir is active on the ground and that all healthcare professionals affiliated with the party have been mobilised and are ready to assist in every way possible.

“We prayed to Almighty Allah to return these beloved children—burned and injured—to our embrace in a healthy condition,” he said.
