Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP, Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar, has alleged that attempts are being made to hijack the mastermind of the 2024 mass uprising, which he described as a force that cannot be stopped.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Secretary General and former MP, Professor Mia Ghulam Parwar, has stated that the mass uprising of 2024 cannot be stopped, a sentiment the people of Bangladesh demonstrated globally during 2024 uprising. He emphasized that the people, especially the students, were the masterminds behind this movement, which he said was not solely the work of any political party.

In his speech as the chief guest at the seminar titled “From Language Movement to Mass Uprising: The Indomitable Bangladesh” organized by the Dhaka South Metropolitan Jamaat-e-Islami at the National Press Club, Parwar remarked, “The mastermind behind the mass uprising needs to be questioned. Some are trying to hijack this history.”

He explained that every struggle of the people of Bangladesh has been against injustice and for the achievement of their rights, and that through three mass uprisings, three ruling regimes had fallen. Parwar further stated that the 2024 uprising would mark the downfall of the “most despotic murderer” Hasina’s rule, signaling the fall of the Awami League.

He also accused India’s BJP government of labeling the people of Bangladesh as enemies. He mentioned their controversial map showing Assam as part of Bangladesh and claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried to undermine Bangladesh’s victory by aligning their Victory Day with India’s. “Modi tried to steal our independence,” Parwar said.

While clarifying that Bangladesh does not consider India as a state enemy, he emphasized that the future of Bangladesh and its political leadership would be determined by the people. He declared that if India attempts to meddle by supporting a government after the fall of the Awami League, Bangladesh’s youth would expel such a government.

Liberty News’ political correspondent states that the seminar, chaired by Jamaat-e-Islami’s Dhaka South Amir, Mohammad Noorul Islam Bulbul, and organized by Secretary Dr. Shafiqul Islam Masud, featured a paper presentation by Professor Syed Abdul Aziz of ZNRF University of Management Sciences. Other distinguished guests included Advocate Dr. Helal Uddin, Deputy Amir of Dhaka South, and Assistant Secretary Dr. Abdul Mannan.
