Jatiya Party is not an opportunistic party : GM Quader

Liberty News Desk

Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman GM Quader has denied claims that the party is opportunistic.

He was addressing an extended meeting at the JaPa Chairman’s office in Banani in Dhaka on Saturday morning.

He accused detractors of spreading propaganda and misrepresenting the party’s stance through social media and various media outlets, labelling JaPa as opportunists and beneficiaries.

Quader emphasized that the majority of JaPa members have consistently supported the people’s interests and will continue to do so.

He clarified that JaPa does not engage in politics for personal gain, greed, or business interests, but to serve the public.

JaPa chairman also expressed support for the quota reform movement, noting that he advocated for it in parliament and urged the government to accept the agitators’ demands.

On the national front, he warned of Bangladesh’s deteriorating economic situation and the risk of becoming a failed state.

GM Quader stressed that elections with all-party participation are essential as the first step to addressing these issues.

He called for elections to be held as soon as possible, regardless of whether they occur before or after December.
