‘July Warriors’ gazette released

The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has published the ‘July Warriors’ Gazette, recognizing 1,401 individuals injured during the July-August Uprising. The gazette, signed by Deputy Secretary Haridas Thakur, was issued on February 27, 2025, detailing the names of the injured and their designated classes for compensation and benefits.

On February 27, 2025, the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs unveiled the ‘July Warriors’ Gazette, featuring the names of 1,401 people who were injured during the July-August Uprising. The gazette, issued under the Ministry’s Rules of Business 1996, serial number 23, classifies the injured individuals into three categories for compensation.

The gazette identifies 493 individuals as “severely injured” in Class ‘A’, who will receive a one-time payment of 500,000 Taka, a monthly allowance of 20,000 Taka, lifelong medical benefits, and appropriate training. In Class ‘B’, 908 individuals, who suffer partial physical disabilities, will receive a one-time payment of 300,000 Taka, a monthly allowance of 15,000 Taka, and training.

Additionally, the Ministry has announced that the list of individuals in Class ‘C’, those who have fully recovered after medical treatment, has not yet been published.

Liberty News’ national correspondent states that earlier, on January 15, 2025, the Ministry released the list of 834 martyrs who lost their lives during the Uprising, and the government has assured financial assistance for the families of the deceased and the injured.
