Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has warned that Israel will face “harsh punishment” following a series of airstrikes near Tehran. The warning comes after Israeli forces reportedly targeted Iran’s nuclear and military facilities, resulting in the deaths of senior military officials and scientists.

In a statement published by Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Khamenei condemned the attack, describing it as a “hostile act” that revealed Israel’s “bloodthirsty nature.”

“By striking residential areas, the Zionist regime has exposed its deep-rooted hostility. This crime will not go unanswered,” said Khamenei. He added that Israel had “opened its evil and bloody hands” against Iran and must now prepare for a painful consequence.

Iranian media and eyewitness reports suggest that the Israeli attacks focused on key uranium enrichment zones, with explosions heard in areas surrounding the capital.

Israel, meanwhile, has claimed the strikes were aimed at disrupting Iran’s alleged attempts to develop nuclear weapons. The situation has further escalated tensions in the already volatile region, with international observers warning of potential retaliation from Tehran.
