Following a 12-day war with Israel, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addressed the nation on Thursday (June 26), declaring victory over what he called the “Zionist regime.” In a televised speech, he said, “Despite their loud claims, the Zionists were on the brink of collapse due to Iran’s powerful strikes.”
Khamenei congratulated the people of Iran, saying, “The fake Zionist regime has been shattered and destroyed by the Islamic Republic.” He also accused the United States of direct involvement in the conflict, stating, “The U.S. intervened only to prevent the collapse of the Zionists, but their aggression achieved nothing. Iran emerged victorious and delivered a decisive blow.”
He praised the unity of the Iranian people, noting, “I commend the exceptional solidarity of our 90-million-strong nation. Iranians stood shoulder to shoulder with our armed forces and demonstrated their unique national character.”
Khamenei warned that any future aggression against Iran would come at a high cost. “Zionists never imagined receiving such a blow from Iran,” he said, adding that Iranian forces bypassed enemy defense systems and struck strategic targets at their core.
