Police have seized another 11,785 pieces of uniforms allegedly made for Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), an armed separatist organization operating in Chittagong Hill Tracts.

The seizure took place on Monday night from a warehouse at Nayahat area under Bayezid Bostami Police Station in Chattogram city.

Although no official statement has been made by Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), a source confirmed the incident on condition of anonymity.

This is the second such seizure in recent weeks. On the night of May 17, intelligence police recovered 20,300 uniforms believed to have been produced for KNF from Ringvo Apparels, also located at Nayarhat area under the same police station.

Following that seizure, three individuals were arrested, including the factory’s owner. The arrested persons are Shahedul Islam, Golam Azam and Niaz Haider.

A case was filed on May 18 at Bayezid Police Station by Sub-Inspector Iqbal Hossain of the city’s detective police. The case names four individuals as accused.

According to the case statement, in March of this year, Golam Azam and Niaz Haider accepted a contract worth approximately Tk 20 million from KNF member Monghlasin Marma, also known as ‘Mong’, to produce uniforms. KNF reportedly supplied the fabric, and the uniforms were scheduled to be delivered in May.
