Labor Advisor : Directive issued for the transfer of long-serving employees

The Labor and Employment and Maritime Affairs Advisor, Brigadier General (Ret.) Dr. M. Sakhawat Hossain, has issued a directive for the transfer of employees who have been working in the same position for an extended period within institutions under the Ministry of Labor. He also emphasized that strict action will be taken against field-level officers and employees if there are any complaints against them.

On Monday, the advisor issued these instructions during a meeting with various officials from the Department of Labor and the Department of Factories and Establishments at the field level.

Since assuming responsibility for the Ministry of Labor, Dr. Sakhawat Hossain has been inspecting labor-intensive areas across the country. During a meeting with factory owners and workers on Monday, some complaints against certain field-level officers and employees were raised. Based on these complaints, the advisor directed the relevant authorities to take appropriate action.

Liberty News National Correspondent reports that, to streamline official activities, 118 labor inspectors, 7 deputy inspectors general, 3 joint inspectors general, 1 assistant inspector general, 1 senior assistant, and 9 office assistants cum computer typists from the Department of Factories and Establishments have been transferred.

In addition, 27 first-class officers, 16 second-class officers, and 28 third-class and fourth-class employees of the Labor Department have been transferred.
