Bangladesh T20I captain Litton Kumar Das is just two dismissals away from equalling Mushfiqur Rahim’s record for the most dismissals by a Bangladeshi wicketkeeper in T20Is. Litton and his team face Ireland in the first T20I at the Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram tonight.
Veteran wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim currently holds the record with 62 dismissals in 102 matches — 32 catches and 30 stumpings. The first Bangladeshi to play 100 Tests, Mushfiq remains ahead of the chasing pack in the shortest format.
Litton is now closing in, having effected 60 dismissals in 117 T20Is, comprising 47 catches and 13 stumpings. Nurul Hasan occupies third place with 30 dismissals for Bangladesh in T20Is.
