The Madrid derby between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid ended in a 1-1 draw, with Barcelona emerging as the indirect winner of the match.

On Saturday night, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid faced off in a thrilling La Liga clash, but neither team managed to secure a win. Despite the draw, the result favored Barcelona, as they gained ground in the league standings.

Real Madrid remains at the top of the table with 50 points from 23 matches, while Atletico Madrid, with one point less, holds second place. Barcelona, who have played one less match, are in third with 45 points. If Barcelona wins their next match, they will narrow the gap with Real Madrid to just two points, reigniting their title hopes after a difficult few weeks.

Liberty News’ sports correspondent states that the match at Santiago Bernabéu saw Atletico Madrid take the lead in the 35th minute with a controversial penalty goal converted by Argentine star Julian Alvarez. However, Real Madrid equalized in the 50th minute when Kylian Mbappé scored, finishing a rebound in the box. Despite several missed opportunities from both teams, neither side could find the back of the net again, and the match ended in a stalemate.
