Information and Broadcasting Advisor Mahfuz Alam has alleged that more than 100,000 Awami League leaders, including Sheikh Hasina, are conspiring against Bangladesh from Delhi.

Speaking at an Eid greeting event in Dhaka’s Tejgaon on Tuesday, where he met families of enforced disappearance and murder victims, Mahfuz made these claims.

He asserted that during the previous government’s tenure, enforced disappearances and killings were carried out as political decisions, with special teams, including police and RAB, assigned to execute them.

“The entire country was under the grip of secret detention centers. Countless individuals were disappeared, and many dissenters were abducted and sent to Indian jails,” Mahfuz claimed.

He further stated that there is no exact data on the number of enforced disappearances, but the Foreign Ministry is assisting in compiling a list. “People of all opposing ideologies, including BNP and Jamaat, were victims of Sheikh Hasina’s rule,” he added.

Referring to the presence of Awami League members in India, Mahfuz remarked, “Sheikh Hasina is still conspiring from India. Awami League was never a political party—it was a mafia. We will never let them rise politically again.”
