A sudden major disruption has hit multiple international airports across Europe after a cyberattack targeted the website of Collins Aerospace, the company that manages check-in and boarding services. As a result, hundreds of flights were canceled at London’s Heathrow, Belgium’s Brussels, and Germany’s Berlin airports.

In a statement, Collins Aerospace confirmed that its systems were experiencing “technical difficulties” and that it would take some time to resolve the issue. The company provides check-in and boarding services to numerous airlines and airports worldwide. Since many prominent European airlines rely on their services, the attack has had a widespread impact on air travel. With passengers unable to check in on time, airlines were forced to announce flight cancellations one after another.

Airport authorities in London, Brussels, and Berlin have been notifying passengers via registered phone numbers about flight cancellations. However, not all European airports have been affected—operations at Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Zurich remain normal.

A Brussels Airport official said that passengers would be served manually until internet-based services were restored, though delays were inevitable. He added that if the issue was not resolved quickly, scheduled departure times could be delayed by an average of one hour per flight.
