Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis Amir Mamunul Haque has accused India of attempting to reintroduce fascism in Bangladesh, alleging that the Indian government is actively supporting Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in creating chaos within the country.
In a significant statement on Saturday night, during a crucial meeting of the party’s central executive committee at the Old Paltan office, Mamunul Haque condemned India’s ongoing support for Hasina’s regime. He asserted that such actions were fostering an atmosphere of disorder, which could lead to the rise of fascism in Bangladesh.
“The seeds of fascism are sown through imperialistic actions, and India is not only providing refuge to the corrupt Hasina but is also involved in a sinister plot to rehabilitate her in Bangladesh,” Haque claimed, urging India to cease all activities that harm Bangladesh’s sovereignty.
The leader also denounced the recent attacks on student activists protesting against discrimination in Gazipur and other parts of the country. These attacks, he argued, were orchestrated by those aligned with fascist ideologies. Haque called for the swift arrest and trial of those responsible for the violence, urging an interim government to take immediate action.
Haque expressed deep concern over the rising political violence and unrest in the country, emphasizing the urgent need for awareness and collective action against all forms of brutality. “Bangladesh’s revolution, led by the blood of martyrs like Abu Saeed, has shown the world the resilience and patience of its people. The enemies of the nation may be disheartened, but they have not given up,” Haque stated.
He warned of potential attempts to incite further violence by infiltrating the ongoing movements, cautioning that the nation must remain vigilant and united to prevent any destabilizing forces from succeeding.
Liberty News’ national affairs correspondent states that, the meeting, chaired by Mamunul Haque, was attended by several key leaders, including General Secretary Jalaluddin Ahmed, Senior Vice President Yusuf Ashraf, and former MP Shahinur Pasha Chowdhury, among others.
