Nagarik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna stated that a law enabling the rehabilitation of the Awami League under the guise of reforms should not be enacted.
Liberty News’ politics correspondent states that, Mahmudur Rahman Manna made these comments at a discussion titled ‘How Far Reforms Are from Elections’ at the National Press Club on Sunday. He emphasized that no law should be introduced to rehabilitate the Awami League. Speaking against the proportional voting system, Manna argued that with just 25% of the votes, the Awami League could secure 75 seats, which he does not support. He also pointed out that reforms have not properly begun yet, and there is a lack of consensus among political parties.
