Meta has taken a giant leap in the AI world with the launch of its new generative AI model, Llama 4, aimed at competing directly with ChatGPT and Gemini.
Mark Zuckerberg himself announced that their AI is now smarter, faster, and more powerful. The new Llama 4 model will be integrated across Meta’s platforms, including WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and the web app.
Llama 4 comes in two versions: Scout and Maverick. Llama 4 Scout is a lightweight and fast model, suitable for mobile and basic devices, while Maverick is a more powerful version designed for complex tasks, such as large data processing and multimedia analysis.
Both models are currently available on Meta’s official website. Meta claims that Llama 4 can not only process text but also analyze images and video content, marking its most significant feature.
Currently, ChatGPT and Gemini dominate the AI market, known for their speed and multimodal capabilities. Meta is now directly challenging these two competitors with Llama 4. AI analysts believe Llama 4 could emerge as a promising contender.
Liberty News’ tech correspondent states that it is reported that the Llama 4 model was inspired by the Chinese AI startup, DeepSik, which has made significant advancements in multimodal and compact AI technologies, which Meta has applied in this new model.
