Sylhet Titans skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz said on Monday that the team’s local players are good enough to perform in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), expressing satisfaction with the overall team combination.
Speaking to reporters at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Ground 2, Miraz said, “The team combination is very good. If you look at the Sylhet players, they are top players, and they are in the Sylhet team. If you see Nasum, how he plays T20 for Bangladesh, now he is playing for Sylhet. Khaled, Ebadot, and others — so everyone is in very good shape. At the same time, those who are playing T20, Emon, and a few other players are also in the Sylhet team. But I feel that the local players are very good.”
Miraz also spoke about all-rounder Afif Hossain and wicketkeeper-batter Zakir Hasan. “At one time in Bangladesh, Afif was called the best T20 player. But somehow he has been a bit missing. I think this tournament could be a good start for him. And if he performs here, getting back into the national team could become easy for him.”
“And about the other players, Zakir Hasan has played for the Bangladesh team, and I have seen how he practices, how he intends to score runs. I liked these things about him. And every player wants to perform in this tournament, and everyone has that activeness inside.”
He also talked about the foreign players and their possible arrival dates, saying, “Everyone will come from tomorrow (on Tuesday), and I hope that within the next two days, all will join the team,” Miraz added.
