Bangladesh all-rounder and vice captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz missed the team’s opening practice session in Sri Lanka due to fever, the team management confirmed on Sunday.
The Bangladesh squad arrived in Galle on Saturday ahead of the first Test against Sri Lanka, which is set to begin on 17 June. However, Miraz was notably absent when the team took to the nets at the Galle International Stadium.
It remains uncertain whether Miraz will recover in time to be considered for the playing XI. His availability will be crucial for Bangladesh, especially in Galle’s spin-friendly conditions where he is expected to play a key role with the ball.
