Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Tanzim Hasan Sakib stitched a vital partnership to stretch Bangladesh’s lead on Day 3 of the Chattogram Test against Zimbabwe.
After the early dismissal of Taijul Islam for 20, Miraz joined forces with Sakib to steady the lower order and build on the advantage. At the time of reporting, Bangladesh stood at 393 for 8, holding a lead of 166 runs. Miraz remained unbeaten on 67, while Sakib supported him with a solid 27, as the duo forged a resilient 50-run stand for the ninth wicket.
Earlier in the day, Taijul had given Bangladesh a perfect start by dismissing Blessing Muzarabani on the first ball, wrapping up Zimbabwe’s first innings at 227. In reply, Bangladesh closed Day 2 at 291 for 7, with Miraz on 16 and Taijul on 5. The home side now looks poised to press further, capitalizing on the two remaining wickets and a commanding lead.
