A missing man’s body went missing in the Jamuna River was recovered at Dewanganj upazila in Jamalpur district on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Suman Das Sunil, 22, son of Shree Suren Babu, a resident of Majhipara village in the upazila.
According to police sources, Sunil went fishing in the Jamuna River by boat on May 19. As heavy rain began, he attempted to return to shore.
However, a portion of the riverbank collapsed onto his boat and he went missing.
Despite efforts by fire service divers, the body could not be located immediately.
Local residents spotted the body floating in the river in the morning and informed the police, who then recovered it.
